Back at it!

Well I have finally managed to get inspired enough to get back into my shed. Have a few things in mind. Started off with a few mugs and some plates. Here are a couple of pictures.

Finally Finished!

Well, in February I posted that I had glazed my dinnerware and that it was going in the kiln. Well I was very disappointed when I opened the kiln and realized that I had glazed the pieces too thin and you could see through the glaze. It looked brown and icky!

Well after almost crying at the thought of 2 years of working on it wasted, I thought about it and decided I would attempt to reglaze the pieces. After a successful test piece, I reglazed all my dinnerware. Here we are 7 months later (thats how long things take with a newborn!) I have finished.

A Teapot

Well I finished my teapot for the Tea Party, I love the shape and I really like the cane handle. Were only a week and a half from the Tea Party. Can't wait to see what everyone else made!

Preparing for the Tea Party

Well its that time of year again when I am busy making mugs and a teapot for the Mississauga Potters "Mad Hatters" Tea Party. I love the teapot I made...so much that I really don't want to give it away! But it just proves I can make them so i will make another for me :)

Almost there!!

Well today I got into my studio and glazed my dinnerware. It took me 4 hours and 20 minutes. But its done and all I have to do now is wipe the bottoms and put them in the kiln!!!

My goal was end of March and I am well ahead of my goal! Hopefully i can get everything fired this week.

So close..yet so far away!

I have been working on my dinnerware for what seems like forever! I am in the process of waxing the bottoms so that I can glaze the dishes, fire them and put them in my cupboard!! Heres hoping with 2 kids (3 and 3 months) and a husband I can get them done by the end of March...that is my goal!

Teapot Set

Been working on a Teapot set for a friend. Wish it came out a little more blue but was happy with the results. Need to work on getting better with the spray gun.
